Labor Day

slaveryintheusThis Labor Day, remember that there is an estimate of 57,700 people enslaved within US borders!  However, there is also estimates that there are 2,472,000 trafficking victims among unauthorized Mexican immigrants in the U.S. The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children estimates that 1 of every 5 children out of 11,800 runaways are also victims of human trafficking.  It is sad that we don’t have better numbers, but regardless, today there are people who will be working despite most people having the day off, and they have no choice in the matter and are forced into it. Let’s remember them today and continue in the fight against human trafficking.
