On Tuesday, February 27th, Stop Enabling Sex Traffickers Act (SESTA), which is now part of the House bill, will be heard! We’ve been telling you all for a few months now about the Call to Action to amend Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act (CDA). The problem is that the tech lobby continues to attempt to stop it by spreading false information about SESTA. They are currently untouchable and know that SESTA is a threat that will change some of the situations involving selling children through the internet and the companies that allow it. The unfortunate issue is that the money involved in keeping this going in tech companies has power over the legislators from signing onto the important bill.
Please make calls to our US representatives – all the numbers are here: https://www.njhumantrafficking.org/advocate/
We need calls to those not yet signed on, but also calls to those who are – if your representative has signed on, send thanks and ask for assistance in getting the entire NJ delegation to be on the right side of history.
