Slavery in the fishing industry has been in the news for the past three years, when it was exposed that Fancy Feast and other companies had slavery on fishing boats in Thailand.  It caused the whole state of California to hold more strictly to their Supply Chain Transparency Act.  To learn more extensive details about what happened in Thailand, read the blog post we wrote in December, 2015 about it.

Many stores across the country decided to stop buying slave-caught shrimp and other seafood after the fishing industry exposure.  This shows how sometimes the outcry from people leads to positive change.  Here’s a list of stores that sell Fair Trade certified & sustainable seafood!
Acme, Albertsons, Amazon, Bristol Farms, Giant Eagle, Grocery Outlet, Hannaford, Hy-Vee, Lazy Acres, Lunds & Byerlys, New Seasons Market, Pavilions, Price Chopper, QFC, Safeway, Shop Rite, Tops Friendly Market, Vallarta, Vincente Foods, Vintage Grocers, Vons, Walmart, and Whole Foods.
