Sold Movie Event – July 6th

SOLD Screening Flyer NJCAHT

This week and coming weekend, we will be reflecting on freedom.  There are millions of people throughout the world who have absolutely no freedom, as they are suffering oppression in slavery.

We want to invite you to join us in the viewing of this film!  Based on the international bestselling novel by Patricia McCormick, and inspired by true accounts, SOLD tells the story of 13 year-old Lakshmi, who is trafficked from her peaceful, rural village in Nepal to work in a brothel called Happiness House in Kolkata, India. Through one extraordinary girl’s story, SOLD gives voice to the millions of children around the world who disappear every year. Globally the estimated average age of a trafficked girl is thirteen, the same age as Lakshmi in the film.

This film was written & directed by Academy and Emmy award-winner, Jeffrey D. Brown.  Executive Produced by two time Academy Award winner, Emma Thompson, and stars X-Files’ Gillian Anderson, David Arquette, and newcomer Niyar Saikia; playing Lakshmi.

This event is a fundraiser for the NJ Coalition Against Human Trafficking.

We encourage you to take pictures at the screening.  If you post on social media, include the following hashtags to help spread awareness on social media!  ‪#‎soldthemovie‬ and ‪#‎daretobethelight‬
